My name is Jacob (Jaap) van der Oort. I was born and raised in Holland, but have been residing in the
Bluegrass area of central Kentucky since 1986.

I have been an avid photographer ever since I traveled the oceans while serving
with the Dutch Navy many many moons ago.
 
I attempt to capture realistic subjects in a expressionistic way.
